RESEARCH: Conclusions regarding title sequences

During the research of title sequences, I've concluded that titles are vital as it introduces the film. Without titles, how will we ever know what we are watching?! We always see title credits at the opening of the film and from this we know the genre of the film. In the opening, the credits either introduce the film's title before the actor's names vice versa. The length of credits is usually long as they are preparing the audience to build up their own visual images of what the film might entail. The credits tend to be longer and slower in a horro, sci-if, thriller themed film as it tries to manipulate and create an illusion with the auidence's minds. The font styles highly depend on the genre of the film for example, in a thriller film the style is mostly to be creepy or written like blood is dripping from it to convey its thriller ideas. In an adventure film , the font style tends to be more appealing and playful because of the genre of the film. Below, I will list examples of the font styles that could be used depending on the genre.

This title sequences has the colour red and red symbolised blood and death. This immediately gives away to the audience that this film is a horror/thriller themed film.

With this title sequence, it scesms action and adventure. The small amount of lighting behind the font shows a sign of bravery maybe implying that this film would be about these Incredibles saving people. In essence, tittle sequences and the other elements such as type font and backgrounds are vital because they give the audience a mini-preview on what they are in for and whether it will catch the audience'a attemtion from the first instance.
