About this track
I chose this sound from www.freeplaymusic.com as it doesn't go against any artist's copyrights. Immediately, this track appealed to me mainly because of the gentle strums of the acoustic guitar. The track starts with the guitar being strummed gently as if there is little movement which would be perfect for the shots establishing the location and introducing the characters (Terrell and his friend). Midway of the track, the guitar picks up the pace and gets more exciting and I thought this would be perfect for when Terrell meets his friend and they spud and their journey onwards. This would be effective because it shows and emphasises the relationship between Terrell and his friend using sound. Towards the end, the guitar goes slow again which would be good when we see the shots of Terrell and his friend going into the tube station and going out of frame as we don't know where they're going but as an audience we would be curious to know where they're going ; hence the slow pace of the track to build suspense.
About this track
I chose this sound from www.bensound.com. I heard this sound right after the first option and I instantly felt like it was the right one! The track just confirms the genre of the title sequence it being drama. I really like the transition from just hearing the drums alone and then after eleven seconds we hear different sounds to give this youthful, urban feel. The first eleven seconds could be used for the location shots and then as soon as the character is introduced , the different sounds kick in. The different sounds give off this element of suspense and it would flow really well with Terrell coming down the stairs as well as Drama conventions.
Chosing the right sound (the conclusion)
- They are both perfect for the title sequences, but I think the second track make the audience comprehend the title sequence a lot more and get a deeper understanding of the main person Terrell. Almost as if they are living in Terrell's world for a day.
- The Groovy Hip Hop sound will be the sound that will be heard in the title sequence!
